Mission

The Law Department, under the direction of City Attorney Elizabeth Cacevic, provides comprehensive legal services to the City of River Rouge, its elected officials, boards, commissions, and departments. Our mission is to ensure that the City operates in full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws while protecting the City’s legal interests and promoting transparent, ethical governance. The Law Department offers legal guidance on municipal matters including ordinances, contracts, labor and employment issues, land use and zoning, litigation, and regulatory compliance. We are committed to delivering timely, practical, and sound legal counsel that supports effective decision-making and responsible stewardship of public resources. Through collaboration, integrity, and professionalism, the Law Department works to safeguard the City’s interests while serving the residents of River Rouge with fairness and accountability.
